Oct. 5, 2017– This year, 233 area Kansas City businesses and nonprofits have been awarded “Workplace Wellness Certification” from the KC Chamber’s Healthy KC Workplace Wellness initiative. That’s an increase of 20 companies over the 2016 number and an increase of 102 over the 2015 number of certified companies.
The certified businesses, nonprofits and other organizations have made wellness a priority. Healthy foods in the cafeteria and vending machines; workout facilities on site; smoking cessation programs; meditation rooms – those are just a few of the ways businesses are encouraging good health for their employees. “Bishop-McCann is excited to have achieved Silver Status in our first year participating with the KC Chamber. Knowing its many benefits, our goal is to find creative ways to inspire wellness for all people in our organization”, said Melanie Maddock, Vice President of Talent & Culture, Bishop-McCann.
