Bishop-McCann Events Agency Rewards Its Own Team in Celebration of 20 Year Milestone with Ultimate Getaway
How does a major integrated, live events agency reward its own team while celebrating a 20 year anniversary milestone? How do you engage and inspire the very people that, every single day, design and produce programs of the like for their clients? We know the secret, and we’d love to share!
Bishop-McCann leadership selected the exclusive Secrets Resort in Cancun’s Playa Mujeras as the destination for this trip of a lifetime. Our in-house creative teams developed the concept for our agency chairman and founder to roll out the exciting plans over a period of time leading up to the trip. The message “I’ve Got a Secret” playfully teased for months leading up to the deployment of the custom event website. When launched, it revealed our conceptual theme, “The Secret of Our Success.”
Attendees received many gifts along the way leading up to the trip. From tees to towels and cocktail kits to giveaways, there was certainly not a shortage of swag to rally the team’s excitement about this celebratory trip. And when the time arrived to descend upon Cancun, the BMC creative and logistics team were ready to reward and inspire their very own!
Once at the resort, custom-printed walkways led guests from registration to hospitality areas. Personalized messages from our dynamic CEO abounded as all knew right away that the fun had begun! The welcome night festivities kicked off as our founder invited all to his oceanside suite for fabulous drinks and desserts—all set with views of surf and sand. It was the perfect night for agency associates and their guests to be able to mix and mingle, along with meeting our partners who support us to do what we do for our clients each and every day.
The following day was filled with terrific activities, including relaxing at the pool and spa, participating in an all-company beach Olympics, enjoying boating and other water vehicles, and simply soaking up the sun. It was a perfect day in paradise. That night, the entire team got dressed to the nines for our gala event reception. With everyone looking fantastic, we descended upon the cocktail reception area; all easily found by the massive projections of the BMC brand animated on the side of a building. Music filled the air from the sax player accompanied by DJ, and this modern mix was visually appealing, giving a contemporary vibe. Drinks, passed appetizers, and togetherness—and this was just the cocktail reception!
At the appropriate time, we signaled for all to join in the ballroom for a spectacular reception and awards dinner created to honor our event agency, founder, and the entire team. It was an evening like no other. Entering the space, it was a visual feast for the senses. Fiber optic walls, dramatic lighting, incredible table designs, and décor. It was full on glitz and glamour. Here we paid homage to our history and looked to the future and our “next 20 years,” while honoring achievements of agency associates in the present. Then we danced! And we danced. And we danced. It was magical.
Our final night, a white party was set on the beach sans shoes. Cabanas, lounge furnishings, a DJ spinning from the top of a lifeguard tower, incredible tropical fare, and the most fantastic FIREWORKS! We all danced to disco hits under the moon and the stars. It was an evening like no other—created by us and for us.
As all departed the following day, it was like being on cloud nine. “Thank you’s” poured out to each other, to our incredible founder, and to our dynamic CEO. Yes, there were more gifts along the way, and there were even some when we arrived home. But the gift truly was our presence and the experience we all shared together.
