Opportunity

The client needed a reliable virtual event production partner to elevate their online event experience. Having faced previous technical issues that impacted audience trust, they sought a seamless, engaging, and high-quality production that would ensure professional delivery and a flawless attendee experience.  

Along with these overarching goals, Bishop-McCann understood the importance of both the customer relationships and supplier partnerships that are ultimately strengthened through these virtual events. For their customers, attendance tracking and CE credits were a huge effort previously managed by the client, so our team understood the importance of taking that piece off their plate.

In addition to meeting the client’s goals, Bishop-McCann also worked to improve the virtual event experience on all fronts—an upgraded broadcast experience, a seamless registration and ticketing system, an enhanced professional production, and a user-friendly show site. Ultimately, our team wanted to prove that we are more than just a vendor; we are a true partner, understanding not only the client’s needs but their attendees’ needs as well. 

Unique Feature

One standout feature of these virtual shows is the dynamic opening videos that sets the stage for the event, introducing the hosts before panning to them live in studio. A recent highlight was a Saturday Night Live-inspired intro that showcased the studio’s “backstage” in between clever action clips of each host, energizing attendees from the outset. These high-quality, engaging video elements not only help establish a more engaging and professional virtual event production experience, but they also serve as a powerful tool for establishing a strong connection with the audience from the very first moment.

In addition to creating a new and exciting opening video for every event, Bishop-McCann also takes a strong focus on the studio design itself. Each event has its own brand identity, and our team takes a fresh approach each time on how to design the broadcast space, so it feels intentionally curated and new for every event. 

Outcome

Over our years of partnership, Bishop-McCann has elevated this show’s virtual event production while meeting the client’s objectives. For each show, mainstage content is streamed live from a professional studio, in addition to 12 to 15 breakout sessions for attendees to choose from. The breakouts are streamed from sponsor stores and salons all over the country, typically performing hands-on demos for the audience. To ensure seamless execution without technical difficulties, our executive producers perform tech checks with each location remotely prior to the show to check their lighting, sound, and overall set up. For the event, we seamlessly integrate remote presenters and broadcast their feed via the show website.  

In addition to ensuring remote presenters are prepared for the broadcast, our executive producers strategically guide the run of show creation, suggest video content, oversee graphic production, design the studio space/scenic, manage studio crew and the schedule, and coordinate the on-site studio broadcast—all with the support of our experience designers, who assist in designing and implementing studio scenic and furniture. Additionally, our graphic designers create all assets needed utilizing the client’s provided marketing package. From registration and e-communications to every aspect of the event website, our graphics team brings it all to life.

For overall team management, our program managers take center stage. They handle logistics, budget management, food and beverage, overall on-site studio experience, and much more to execute the event flawlessly. Our attendee experience managers are absolutely integral in managing the virtual platform partnership and strategy with support from our program managers. Additionally, they build registration, manage reporting and attendance, answer attendee questions, design the event website’s functionality alongside our designers, track and send CE credit emails, and oversee many other tasks to ensure a positive attendee experience.
