Hosted over five days, this incentive program gathered 250 of Verizon’s elite employees, executives, and VIPs to honor their exceptional achievements. The event featured luxurious activities, themed dinners, and memorable cultural experiences, including a vibrant Junkanoo-themed final night party. Each element was designed to surprise and delight attendees while staying within a carefully managed budget.

Opportunity

With a partnership spanning more than a decade, Bishop-McCann has been entrusted with numerous Verizon events. Our team has been creating incentive programs and celebrating Verizon’s top performers for several years, and throughout that time, their President’s Club has won various awards, including Motivation Masters. Due to the success of these programs, Verizon’s associates strive to be a part of this prestigious club. After having won, these associates are extremely motivated; in fact, some attendees have won this program over 20 times. Because there are often repeat winners, raising the bar and exceeding client expectations were absolutely necessary for a successful program. 

This year, the challenge was to surpass previous years’ experiences by creating a program that was infused with the rich culture of the Bahamas. We aimed to reward top performers and inspire them to maintain their stellar performance with a program that was cohesive, culturally immersive, and memorable – making this event the highlight of their year. 

Outcome

Once attendees were announced, we set the tone by sending each winner a pre-trip gift, including luggage tags, a passport holder, Beats Solo headphones, and a welcome letter in a custom box. This pre-trip mailer built excitement for the President’s Club, setting the stage for success. Upon arrival, attendees received even more exciting items through our personalized gifting suites featuring Ray-Ban sunglasses, Panama Jack hats, North Face rain jackets, and the NikeID experience, which allowed guests to create a customized pair of sneakers. The event also included exclusive venue buyouts (including the entire Marcus Samuelsson restaurant – a five-star restaurant known for award-winning food and breathtaking ocean views) and private activities (including dolphin rides, jeep tours, charter catamarans, and uniquely Nassau activities), ensuring each attendee had a memorable experience.  

During the awards ceremony, we brought each winner’s name to life on a 36-foot LED wall. Names were visible to the crowd on a progressing backdrop of the beach, changing from morning to sunset as the ceremony went on.  A local dance group with accompanying drummers kicked off the awards ceremony, and these same performers led attendees to the afterparty. The vibrant afterparty was a standout moment and took place at the BOND Nightclub, which we bought out for an intimate experience where guests danced the night away. Additionally, Verizon provided an extra incentive for the top 15 winners with a special invite-only happy hour featuring the executive team. We privatized the Nexus Club at the Baha Mar to offer the winners one-on-one time with the Verizon Leadership Team. 

This President’s Club achieved high marks for attendee satisfaction with well-planned receptions and activities that seamlessly integrated local culture, from the bright and colorful welcome reception to the dazzling beach farewell party. Because of the success of previous incentive programs, our team now knows many winners and their plus ones personally from the impressive volume of repeat winners, making customization a true focus. Due to this, attendees were treated to personalized services and innovative technologies in order to provide a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.

From the warm welcome reception with vibrant decor to the high-energy afterparty and elegant awards night, every detail was meticulously planned to ensure maximum enjoyment. Personalized services like the mobile app for agendas and seamless dinner reservations added to the VIP treatment, making every attendee feel special.
